Online inspections must be scheduled by 6:00 pm the business day before the inspection.

Zoning inspections require 72 business hours notice.

If you are applying for a trade permit related to Tropical Storm Helene, please apply for the emergency permit on the development portal (https://develop.ashevillenc.gov/). All emergency permit fees will be waived. Trade permits applied for via here on ACA will be processed as a non-storm related permit and will be charged as normal.

Refund Policy

All processed permits carry a minimum, non-refundable application fee of $75.00.  Applications that have been processed but have not incurred plan review or inspections are eligible for a refund of 90% of the fee less the minimum application fee of $75.00.  Applications that have been through plan review but not incurred any inspections are eligible for a refund of 75% of the fee less the minimum application fee of $75.00.  No refunds will be given six months or more beyond permit issuance or plan review.  To request a credit you may contact Development Services at 828.259.5935.
